Dance Photography
My passion for dance photography began long before I ever picked up a camera. My mother was a professional dancer, so as a child, I spent countless hours at her classes and rehearsals. My usual spot was on the piano bench beside the accompanist—an older woman who played while constantly smoking and would put her cigarettes out in a beanbag ashtray right next to the keys.
That world had little to do with photography, but it gave me a deep respect for the discipline and dedication it takes to become a skilled dancer. The training starts young and demands pushing the body to its limits. I see dancers as both elite athletes and true artists. From that bench, I also began to recognize the powerful lines they create—and what simply looks stunning.
Fast-forward 35 years: my daughters were in dance, their school needed a photographer, and I stepped in. That was 17 years ago. Since then, I’ve developed a distinctive style—blending editorial, fashion, and fine-art elements with bold colors and dramatic lighting to highlight each dancer’s strength and grace. Whether it’s dynamic action shots or carefully composed portraits, I capture their hard-earned achievements.
Dance companies, schools, studios, brands, or independent dancers—you’re in capable hands with me.
